5280 Waste Solutions was founded in 2012. Bill and the team have built 5280 to be the largest independent roll-off company in the Rocky Mountains.
Founded in 2014, Western Star is Bill’s newest venture. Western Star provides a software-as-a-service delivered over the Internet. Built using state of the art mobile software technology, Western Star revolutionizes the logistics planning and business process optimization for dynamic, complex transportation workflows.
Bill started his career at IBM. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Political Science from Colorado College.
Brian joined the company in January of 2018. With an extensive operating and leadership background, Brian brings over 18 years of transportation management experience with him from the SE.
Brian has held various positions within the industry and is proud to call 5280 home.
He enjoys traveling and seeing new sights in his free time.
Mary is a veteran of 5280, who has chosen to return to the team because she shares the vision of success based on best-in-class performance for customers. Building on her past experience in operations management and customer service, Mary may be our best ambassador of quality service.
Like many of us, Tommy is a Denver native. He’s spent 34 years in the trash business. Tommy’s work ethic and commitment to quality in the field command the highest respect from our team. Tommy has 3 kids 13 grandkids. Dedicated to raising the bar for our driving team, Tommy is also committed to raising the level of opportunity in the community by devoting his spare time to his role as a boxing coach for kids of all ages – providing a sports challenge and acting as a role model to help keep kids off drugs and off the streets.
Business Development Manager
David Parker is a Silicon Valley veteran sales & marketing executive and was the founding president of WebLogic, prior to its acquisition by BEA Systems. WebLogic achieved a peak market valuation of $3 billion as its pro-rata share of BEA. Earlier, Parker led a management buy-out of Quintus. Quintus was a pioneer in front-office and CRM enterprise application software, and achieved a peak market valuation of $1.8 billion.
Parker has held president and chief executive officer positions with Enlighten (NASDAQ SFTW), Appeal Virtual Machines (acquired by BEA, then Oracle), SeeRun and Exemplary (acquired by Persistent Systems); and sales executive positions with Avolent, Trolltech (acquired by Nokia) and IBM where Parker began his career in Palo Alto, California in 1979. He has also served as a director/advisor for Liaison Technologies, RetailNext, Motocol, Senion (Sweden), InsiteSource, SeeRun (TelAviv), BuzMe, DevZuz, Xcerion (Sweden), KatieSoft, Karna Global Technology, and ePac. Parker earned a BA in economics from Stanford University.
5280 welcomes Kristen Schmid to the team. Kristen is originally from the Omaha, NE area and currently lives in Westminster. Prior to starting her career in the accounting field 8 years ago, she served in the US Navy aboard the USS Carl Vinson for 4 years.
Outside of work, Kristen enjoys camping in Moab or checking out the scene of a Rockies game!
